CORSA 7.2, BCT’s latest version of the modular enterprise content management system, has been officially NEN 2082-certified since July 31 2009. CORSA 7.2 has already met the software specifications for Records Management Applications for the Dutch government (ReMANO). At the moment, CORSA is used by more than 500 large and medium-sized companies and institutions is Europe.
The NEN 2082 standard is based on both ReMANO 2004 specifications and the Core Model of the inter-ministerial cooperation for the renewal of InterLAB. Besides these standards, the NEN-ISO 15489 has also been taken into account when drafting the new standard.
These previous models were specifically focused at governmental level and originated with Record Management Application (RMA), or of the software itself. The NEN 2082, however, focuses on functionality for RM in applications that support primary business processes or standalone RM applications.
The NEN 2082 standard has been compiled from the vision that digital information must be approached integrally. Information is stored in numerous systems. If this is used as justification or proof, it must be authentic, reliable, honest and useful. To achieve this, the systems in which information is stored, have to meet these criteria. Hence, NEN 2082 shifts the emphasis to functionality.
In the document "Softwarespecificaties voor Records Management Applicaties voor de Nederlandse Overheid 2004" (Software Specifications for Records Management Applications for the Dutch government 2004) the functions of Records Management Applications are defined as follows: "An ideal application for information and archive management supports all system functions, i.e. the recording of documents (archiving in the strict sense of the word), registration, storage, validating (selecting), describing, classifying, making it available, removing and storing (preservation). These are the functions that belong in a Records Management Application." CORSA 7.1 has been ReMANO-certified since February 2005, and CORSA 7.2 also met these requirements.
