BCT Guiding Documents, which as the provider of document management system Corsa has conquered a prominent position within the Dutch Government and became a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner. Being a Gold Partner, BCT meets the tough requirements for the knowledge of Microsoft products and for the quality of the developed applications. BCT attained this special status at a remarkable speed. BCT and Microsoft signed an official Partner Business Plan only in December 2007. The collaboration between Microsoft and BCT Guiding Documents is mainly focused on sales and support of the Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and the integration of SharePoint with the document management and workflow management solutions from BCT. As one of the first providers, BCT presented a complete operational SharePoint integration this week.

“We are always looking for vendors and partners, who distinguish themselves by their knowledge of specific market segments”, explains Cees van de Par, Public Sector Lead at Microsoft Netherlands. “This position, which was attained by BCT in the past decades not only in the non-profit sector, but primarily within the Government, is of great importance to Microsoft. BCT products all meet the standards and requirements of the Dutch Government, such as the Public Records Act and the software specifications for Records Management Applications for the Dutch Government. With the assistance of BCT, Microsoft hopes to strengthen its position on the governmental market, with an emphasis on Microsoft Office SharePoint Server. BCT will adjust SharePoint in such a way that the system will meet the necessary certifications for the government. In this market we see SharePoint especially as a portal, which offers a lot of collaboration tools. Because of the integration with Corsa, we can link professional functionalities in the area of workflow, document management, filing and making documents accessible.”

“With our products we conquered a prominent position within communities, the police, water boards, semi-government organizations, universities and healthcare”, says Marc Chalier, Product Manager at BCT Guiding Documents. “Corsa, our most important product, incorporates extensive functionality for document management, workflow, filing and folder development. Based on this, we developed, for example, specific solutions for completing working processes such as requesting and completing licenses by municipal employees or for approving invoices. Although SharePoint also contains functionalities for the accessibility of company information and workflow, Corsa offers many more possibilities in this area. Because SharePoint, in comparison to Corsa, offers so many possibilities in the area of collaboration, SharePoint is expected to become the standard solution within Corsa implementations, with which information provision and collaboration within teams is supported.”

The collaboration between BCT Guiding Documents and Microsoft will mainly entail joint marketing and sales activities as well as technical support during the integration of both systems.
