To optimize the service to these employees, in 2006 one has started a project called ‘digitalization of personnel files’. Besides optimizing the service, making the most of the available space is one of the most important reasons for this digitalization. ‘In both the current situation and the new construction, every square metre is worth its weight in gold’, explains Willem Broekhuis, Head of Documentary Information Services. ‘We are not going to waste them on file cabinets and carrousel filing cabinets. Electronic storage is the only and best space-saving alternative.’
